Shah Rukh Khan is universally adored by his admirers. But there is one thing that SRKians have complained about, and that is his smoking habit. While smoking is a personal choice, Khan's admirers do not want him to become a chain smoker.

Shah Rukh is a chain smoker, as he has admitted on multiple occasions. It does appear to be cool to some level, and that is all there is to it. Shah began smoking at an early age in his career. He didn't have any constraints back then. Thankfully, his children have forced him to reconsider his life choices.

Shah Rukh Khan has said that his children are concerned about his smoking habit. Fans have even asked him to get help for his addiction on social media.

Shah Rukh Khan graced NDTV's show during the promotional tour for Don in 2006. Khan had released an anti-cancer medication the previous year. One of the audience members mentioned the actor's double standards while discussing the subject. According to Khan, “Yeah, it is ironic. See I don’t take polio injections anymore but I do tell people to take polio injections. I have always said it and I will say it again and again, I am trying to quit smoking and smoking is not good for health and it is something that I should and Inshallah as soon as I can do.”

Shah Rukh Khan elaborated on the anti-cancer drug announcement, saying, “The day I was called by the company was my father’s death anniversary who had died of cancer. So, I just felt as if I am doing a prayer for him in his memory. But yes irony aside, I think smoking is no good and I am really sorry and I apologize that I smoke and I will try and give it up. “

We wish Shah Rukh well in quitting smoking and staying healthy.
