Ek Vilain Returns Box Office Day 5 - Early Trends: Mohit Sui's psychological thriller film is a sequel of the 2014 release. It stars Sidharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh. The first installment was a surprise hit at the box-office.
The second installment did not perform as expected. The film stars John Abraham and Tara Sutaria as the leads. The film has received mixed to negative reviews from critics and audiences.
Ek Villian Returns would be ideal if it held at 4 crores on Monday. This would have allowed the film to reach the 50 million mark in its lifetime. The film managed to collect Rs. 3.02 crores Monday. It's now 50% lower than the opening day collection of Rs 7 million.
Mohit Suri's film also performed well at the ticket window, bringing in Rs 74.7 cr on day 2. It was also able to increase a bit on Sunday, earning around Rs 90.2 cr making it a total 23.54 million in its first weekend. The latest trade reports suggest that the film will bring in Rs 2 to 3 crore more by Day 5.
Ek Vilain Returns will now have a collection of Rs 28.56 to 29.56 crores. The film will likely earn slightly more than the 32 crores mark in the final week.
We also informed you that the new release was in John Abraham's top-10 most openers list and Arjun Kapoor’s top-5 most openers list. Gunday was AK's all-time best opener. He opened at 15.86 cr. 2 States, which earned 12.28crore, is his 2nd highest opener. Half Girlfriend, Ki & Ka, which minted 10.27crore and 8.30 crore were the next highest.
