Even after 27 years, the film is still remembered today for its songs and dance routines
In 1994, Sooraj Barjatya released Hum Aapke Hain Koun, a romantic drama starring Salman Khan & Madhuri Dixit. The film's songs and dance routines are still popular today, 27 years later. There were 14 songs in the film, but not all made it into the final cut.

Industry insiders were not able to see the film when it was first presented to them. Only Salman Khan's father, veteran writer Salim Khan, and Aditya Chopra from YRF really liked the film.
In 2014, Hum Aapke Hain Koun was celebrating its 20th anniversary. Indian Express reported that Salman Khan and Sooraj Barjatya had shown a video showing their trials. They said, "We had so much trials, 50-70 trials." It was loved by Salim uncle and Aditya Chopra. Liberty cinema was my big test, and the whole industry was there."
The filmmaker described how the audience had left the screening in the middle of the film. After the screening, he was approached by trade people who offered him condolences. "They said that 'Yeh Sabke Saath Hota Hai (this happens to every filmmaker) and that he would start work on his next film." This film was doomed.
Sooraj Barjatya revealed that Salim Khan called him and asked him to take out two songs, Chocolate Lime Juice (and Mujhse Juda Hokar). Many people saw the songs on TV but not many were able to see them in person.
Salim Khan's guidance changed the fate Hum Aapke Hain Koun. Sooraj said, "I cut (those songs), on the third day and that was when the collections rose."
The highest-grossing film ever was Hum Aapke Hain Koun, which stars Salman Khan and Madhuri dixit. According to trade reports, the film earned more than Rs 72 crore in domestic box office. It also enjoyed great success on the international market.
