When Amitabh Bachchan Shocked Mehmood By Not Meeting Him In The Hospital & Got Slammed

Amitabh Bachchan has been the most famous actor in Bollywood. He is widely thought of as an influential, well-known and revered actors of the past in Indian film. But, many do not know that the the late actor Mehmood Ali played a significant contribution to his success. Read on to learn more.

Ali is still among India's top recognizable comedians. The legendary actor who entertained the crowd by his comedy, smashed his fame as a comedian through Rajendra Kumar's movie, Sasural in the year 1961. When he sparked tears with his films lavishness became the norm of life.

In a discussion during a conversation with Filmfare during the year 2015 Mehmood Ali's older brother Anwar Ali stated, "He lived like a King, both in terms of his style of living, and also his generosity. He cared for our large group of 150. He was an avid car enthusiast. At some point, he had 24 vehicles including the Stingray, Dodge, Impala, MG, Jaguar and other models."

And not just that this veteran was influential aiding other performers find their way to fame. His most adored protege was Amitabh Bachchan. Ali believed in a bright future for Big B before anyone else could and even referred to himself the Bachchan's second-father since Ali was the one to teach Big B about how to earn money.

Mehmood Ali was able to get Amitabh the lead part for Bombay To Goa the film that made him famous by Salim-Javed, the famous duo. This lead to an 1973 feature film Zanjeer that was the turning point for Bachchan's career.

Amitabh Bachchan, too, was a fan of Mehmood as he died in 2004. The veteran actor on his blog said, "He always helped in my establishing myself as an actor. Mehmood Bhai was one the people who helped me in my chart early in my career. He was the producer who offered me the lead part - in the movie 'Bombay to Goa'. After several failed attempts I came up with a plan to return to my home. But Mehmood Sahab's father Anwar prevented me from going back."

According to Indian Express, when a radio journalist inquired of Mehmood Ali questions about the horses he owned, he gushed, "The fastest horse is Amitabh. When he reaches his speed, he'll leave all others behind." But the love grew cold over the years that followed through. He often spoke of his frustrations of his relationships between him and Amitabh in interviews, but always expressed his best wishes to him and hoped that he would reach higher levels.

Interview with Mehmood said that Amitabh Bachchan respected him , but an act of kindness surprised him. He stated, "A man who has great success has two fathers: the biological father and the father who taught him how to earn money. The biological father is Bachchan Saab of course, but his teacher is me, who provided him a home to stay in and rented him movies. He has a lot of respect for me and if he's sitting and he hears my voice, he'd immediately rise."

The famous actor stated, "Although Amit respects me quite a bit but one of his actions surprised me a little. After his dad Harivansh Rai Bachchan fell, I went to Amitabh Bachchan's home to visit his father, but after I underwent bypass surgery, Amitabh came to Breach Candy Hospital along with his father, but He did not visit me to visit me. Amitabh showed me that his father was authentic and that fake dad was a fraud. He did not even visit me, greet me well, or even send me a card to say "Get Well Soon" or small flowers, even though he was aware that I was in the hospital. I forgive him and did not wish him any harm. I'm hoping that he doesn't do this to any other person."
