Aishwarya revealed all in an interview from 1999 and attacked Manisha for making 'false accusations'.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, in an interview with Showtime Magazine, spoke out about the drama with Manisha. She said that "In the beginning '94, a leading publication came out with this red hot scoop'." Rajeev was said to have dumped Manisha. Rajeev was supposed to have dumped me for Manisha. I called him up when I found out about it and asked what the fuss was about. Rajeev was a good friend and nothing more. I told Rajeev that I did not want to be involved in their love story. They stopped seeing each other after two months. Manisha was seeing a new guy every other month."
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan continued, adding that "Time passed and around '95 we'd come down to India for Miss World who was visiting India. It was then that I first saw Bombay in Tamil. It was amazing. Rajeev had called me after I reached Bombay on the 1st of April. I was telling Rajeev about Manisha's performance in the film, and I planned to send her flowers to express my gratitude. He laughed at me, and asked me if I had read the papers. He told me that Manisha had claimed to have found love letters Rajeev had sent me. It was unbelievable! It was a shock for me. It was a shock to me. If Rajeev was responsible for her split in two months, why not brood it for nine months before finally revealing the truth?
Aishwarya also shared how Manisha Koirala's negative news initially bothered her. She said that "this Manisha episode really affected my heart in the beginning." I cried like crazy. All that was going on around me really made me feel terrible. She kept repeating that she was misquoted after she said so much. She had a lot of affairs after that split, according to media reports.
