The first thing to note is that the Squid Game’s story has drawn the most attention of viewers. The subject of class struggle has been universal and as the years go by, the gap between classes has increased. But, instead of focussing on two opposing class, this show explores small themes such as survival of the strongest, trust-building families, kindness and love. Another successful Korean film based around the idea that of the struggle for class includes Bong Joon-ho’s Parasite.
Then, Netflix has been emphasizing the accessibility to all countries of their series and films to be an important consideration. The streaming company began creating own original programming in the year 2013 and with House of Cards being its first original series. After a few years, the streaming service begin to develop international series such as the Spanish teenage murder thriller Elite and the German sci-fi show Dark.
