Entertainment Tonight reports that the complaint alleges O'Leary and Harrington from Shark Tank used a "predatory scam scheme" to recruit their targets in one of two businesses. People who filed the complaint admitted that they were promised financial support for their projects if they paid one of two firms. However, they never received such support once they gave the money. In the paper, the victims mentioned that Ideazon and InventureX may not be real and are a cover-up to their scheme to deceive new investors. According to Page Six, Harrington "is a partner and primary executive at InventureX" and the document states that the two men accused had "endorsed and recommended the same companies to the victims."

The entrepreneurs who filed the complaint claimed that plaintiffs suffered losses of around hundreds of thousands of dollar. According to the complaint, it was seeking to recover damages, economic losses, and legal costs from O'Leary and Harrington.
