Shang Chi was released in all parts of the world on September 3rd. The film was released in the US and Canada on the Labor Day holiday. This allowed for a 4-day extended weekend. We now have the most recent update on the collections following a 5-day theatrical run.
Marvel's latest film has crossed $100 million domestically in 5 days. According to Box Office Mojo, the film has grossed $101.29million so far. Simu Liu's superhero movie is also doing well in international markets. The film has earned $56.41 million in international circuits and has a worldwide total of $157.70million.
Shang Chi currently plays in 4,300 theatres in China, in an attempt to be the largest pandemic-era release.
We also learned recently that Marvel's newest superhero is an Avenger.
According to a Marvel video, Shang Chi is now an Avenger.
Marvel shared a trailer to announce their eagerly awaited movie Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings. We were able to see the Avengers' veteran heroes, including Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow and Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man. Later, we are taken to Simu Liu as the hero. The announcement breaks the screen and says "Marvel's New Avenger." This is because Liu was roped into the movement for the greater good.
