Shang Chi Box Office (India): Slides During The Weekdays, Still Has A Decent First Week

The wait continues for a true box office biggie.

Shang Chi Box Office (India). After a strong start on Friday (2.97 million), and then increasing over the weekend, Shang Chi and The Legend Of The Ten Rings experienced a steady decline over the following weekdays. The film fell almost half off on Monday (1.53 million) compared to Friday. There was also a steady dip on Tuesday (1.22 crores), Wednesday (0.06 crores)and Thursday (0.86 billions).

The ideal scenario would have been for the film to stay around 1.50 crores on weekdays, as this would have promised a better hold in week 2. This seems unlikely, however. There isn't any competition from Bollywood and Hollywood, which is good news for the film. Thalaivi was released in select theatres, and is not present at multiplexes. The impact of the superhero film on these properties is minimal considering its popularity.

The film has earned 15.28 crores to date. Although it seemed at one time that Shang Chi and The Legend Of The Ten Rings would cruise past 30 crores, this won't be the case now. The film's best case scenario is 25 crores over its lifetime. Anything more would be a bonus.

For a truly box office hit, the wait is not over.
