Ajnabee was an important turning point for Akshay, as he played the negative character Vikram Bjaj. However, Shah Rukh Khan was originally meant to play the role. The role was eventually given to Khiladi, as King Khan wasn’t interested in playing a villain. Both critics and audiences were pleased with the film.

For their performances in the film, both Akshay and Bipasha were awarded a popular award. Khiladi was awarded the Best Villain Award on Filmfare, while Bipasha received the best debutant award. The film is also a reminder of the famous rivalry between Kareena Kapoor and Bipasha. According to reports, Bebo called actress "Kaali billi" because of her dusky complexion.

Shah Rukh Khan's return to silver screen is being made with Sidharth Anand’s film Pathan. According to reports, Atlee and Nayanthara have begun filming in Pune for Atlee's film. Fans are eagerly awaiting the untitled film.
