James Gunn decided to discuss the entire row involving Scarlett Johansson and Disney over Black Widow in his conversation with The Direct. He claims he only knew Natasha Romanoff, but he actually trusts her. Gunn continues to call Johansson great.

"I haven’t really been fully up to it. Scarlett has only been a passing acquaintance. She's an amazing person. She's a great person, and I believe she is, uh?, you know, Scarlett," James Gunn stated.

Scarlett Johansson and Disney are at war over Black Widow's release format. According to her lawsuit, she was promised a theatrical release. However, the studio released Black Widow on Disney Plus the next day. She claimed that she suffered severe losses. Studio on the other hand, has called her lawsuit unfounded and a PR stunt.
