Today marks the one-year anniversary of actor Saif Ali Khan. We decided to go back in time and share one of his old statements regarding the characters he plays. Despite giving us amazing performances in films like Omkara, Parineeta, Tanhaji and more, Saif has been chiefly typecast as someone who plays a commitment-phobic manchild - and the actor knows it.

Saif Ali Khan spoke out about his role as the commitment-phobic manchild during a conversation with Film Companion in 2018. In movies such as Kya Kehna and Hum Tum, Love Aaj Kal Kal, Cocktail, and many more, Saif was a character called "Commitment Phobia". Saif stated that Agent Vinod was his attempt at a new direction in his career. The actor admitted that he was tired of playing the stereotypical character and said that Agent Vinod was his attempt to change that direction. It didn't turn out well, but it was a well-produced film.

He said, "If it had succeeded, it was a good effort for a guy who likes romantic comedies to do something more age-appropriate." You can become a R&AW agent in your 40s. It's amazing how many times manipulating your fate has worked.

Speaking about Cocktail, Saif Ali Khan said he thought that would likely be 'pretty much the last time' he played such a role. He stated, "I felt like that vibe was becoming a bit boring." A guy who is uncertain about his future and is committed phobic is the soul of the romantic hero. After a while, I find that it's quite irritating for the audience. He said that he's grown up ..." and had been married twice. Like you're still confused?"

Saif Ali Khan married actress Amrita Singh, whom he first met while filming Bekhudi. They were married in October 1991. They have two children, Sara Ali Khan (daughter) and Ibrahim Ali Khan (son). They split in 2004. After a five year courtship, Saif married Kareena Kapoor in October 2012. They have two children, Taimur Ali Khan (born 2016), and Jehangir Ali Khan (1902.
