Robert Downey Jr Almost Denied Doing Avengers: Endgame’s Epic ‘I Am Iron Man’ Scene'

Everybody remembers the iconic ending to Avengers: Endgame featuring Robert Downey Jr., but it turned out that he didn’t want it to be filmed initially. Downey Jr was the iconic actor for 11 years. He finally retired in Endgame 2019, which Russo Brothers created. Stark, who gave his life to save the universe from Thanos, was also honored in the movie. The hero snatches and embeds the Infinity Stones on his gauntlet.

Tony Stark snaps his fingers before he says, "I Am Iron Man." This is in response to Thanos' previous declaration, "I Am Inevitable." Robert Downey Jr. didn't want it that way. The new book, "The Story of Marvel Studios: The Making of the Marvel Cinematic Universe" by Anthony Russo and Kevin Feige, the Marvel CEO, explains why this happened.

Kevin Feige, ComicBook's editor, said that Robert Downey Jr. was not interested in returning to shoot the ending. "It's not something you can dial up and down very easily. It was difficult for Robert to address it.

"It was difficult for him to understand, particularly, where we were in the storytelling. You can understand the material better when you are in the editing room. It's been explored in every way possible. This doesn't mean you can't come up with a new idea. He said that by this point, we knew exactly what the scene needed."
