Rihanna Drops The Lawsuit Filed Against Her Father Over ‘Misusing Her Name’

Rihanna also said he had tried to book her on an overseas tour without permission

Rihanna has settled a lawsuit against Ronald Fenty, her father who was previously accused of misusing her name to his own advantage.

Complex has seen court documents that show that the singer filed a stipulation to dismiss the entire suit on September 7th, along with her companies Roraj Trade LLC, and Combermere Entertainment Properties. Fenty Entertainment LLC was a California-based firm, along with Ronald Fenty, Moses Joktan Perkins, were named in the suit.

According to reports, Rihanna filed suit against her father and Moses Joktan Perkins, her business partner. This is allegedly over claims that Rihanna deceived people into believing she was connected with his company.

Rihanna also stated that he tried to book her for an overseas tour but was denied permission.

Rihanna requested dismissal of the case Tuesday, as the case was set to go to trial on September 22.

According to BBC.com, the Diamonds singer Robyn Rihanna Fenty filed her legal case two-years ago. She stated that, "Though Mr Fenty is Rihanna’s father, he doesn't have authority to act for Rihanna."

The world's most successful singer has had a troubled relationship with her father for many years. He has suffered from alcoholism and drug addiction in his past.
