Annu Kapoor, a Bollywood Hungama star, spoke out about 7 Khoon Maaf and stated that Priyanka Chopra is a very talented singer. In Hindi, Annu Kapoor said that she had told her during filming of the 2011 movie, "Listen, this role is very difficult, give your best. It will be a very sad day if you don't get an international award. "Whatever I've said to her, it's the same thing I've said behind her back."
Annu Kapoor spoke further about Priyanka Chpra. She said that "Main usko critique karunga. Criticize aur abuse mai farq hai. Aap mujse puchiye, mai criticize karunga. Aur usko hona-chahiye." Kapoor added that he was a senior actor, and perhaps just a few years older than her father. "Maine use setke ke upar" Kapoor stated, "Maine use setke ke upar bahut dukh haga agar Oscar nahi layatoh, capable ladki hi isliyebola tha."
Continuing further about the former Miss World, Annu Kapoor said, "Priyanka Chopra ke baare mai ek senior actor ne - jitni ki umar nahi hai uske double saal toh maine sangharsh karne mai hoga bhaiya. Ab ho heroine hai, mai character artiste hu. Lekin agar, kalakar ko kalakar se toiloge toh stardom utaro aur kala ke shetre mai samne aao. Phir baat karte hai. Stardom ke Joh stars yaha (pointing at his shoulders) tangerakhe hai woh-hatao aur Kalakar se Kalakar ki Baat hone.
Annu Kapoor said that he should be happy that Priyanka Chopra remembered her during an interview.
