His ongoing health conditions have already made it difficult for him to perform.

"I can barely hold the drumstick with this hand." Phil Collins said this in a recent interview with BBC.

Phil Collins has suffered nerve damage since 2007, following a spinal injury. This has made it difficult for him to play the drums and forced him to sit down while he sings.

Collins stated that he is physically challenged and it frustrates him. He also said that he would love to play up there with his son.

The legendary musician stated that a Genesis reunion was only possible if Nic was there to play the drums.

Along with his bandmates Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks, the 70-year old singer and drummer shared their feelings before heading back on the road. First announced March 2020, but later postponed by the coronavirus pandemic. The tour 2021 will start this winter.

Rutherford quoted Phil Collins, saying that the tour was the band's way to "put it to bed".

Collins is most well-known as the drummer-singer for the rock band Genesis, and his solo career. Collins' solo career saw him achieve three UK number-one singles and seven US number one singles between 1982 and 1990.

His greatest hits from the period include "In the Air Tonight", "I Don't care Anymore", "Against All Odds" (Take a look at Me Now), and "One More Night".
