Bond's new film, "No Time To Die", is the 25th installment. It marks the fifth and final appearance of Daniel Craig as British Superspy. The original release date of the film, directed by Cary Koji Fukunaga was to go into theatres in April 2020. Fukunaga's film, which was delayed by the pandemic, is now set to be released in the USA on October 8. Bond fans are a bit reticent to discuss the future of the franchise as it is still unclear who will replace Craig Bond.
Lashana Lynch spoke with the Guardian and suggested that Craig's successor doesn't really matter. Because the franchise is so big, she thinks that the next iteration doesn't have to be white and male. The audiences will still come no matter who the poster is. Lynch explained that the industry is no longer giving the audience what they want. They are actually giving the audience what it wants. Bond could be either a man, or a woman. They could be of any race, including white, black, Asian or mixed. They could be young and old. Everyone would flock to the cinema, no matter how young or old, to see if Bond was played by a 2-year old.
Lashana Lynch has been ratified to be the 007 character in No Time to Die. The story picks up five year after Bond left following the events of Spectre. However, Lashana laughs off rumors that Lashana is going to replace Scott. Although she believes that Bond was initially looking for someone to challenge him when he tries to reimpose authority, lynch is thrilled with the evolution of the character throughout the writing process.
Lashana Lynch's joke about finding a new Bond is true. However, it will be difficult to find a replacement for Craig. He went from being an unambiguous choice in 2006's Casino Royale reboot to becoming a global icon with the role. Fans will have to be able to let go of his portrayal. The fate of this long-running franchise could be decided by who takes over the role after No Time to Die.
