In a recent chat, Lynch also admitted that she was really looking to be "strong and powerful" by engaging in action films, as reported by femalefirst.co.uk.
When asked about her goals in The Bond movie The film No Time To Die, Lashana Lynch said to ComicBook.com, "There are two things. I wanted to make an authentic character that was engaging, ambitious and witty , all the above."
Lashana Lynch said, "But I really just wanted to pull off huge stunts, if I'm sincere. I wanted to punch individuals in their faces, grapple with weapons, then roll on the ground, sweat and put on combat pants and boots and feel extremely powerful. It was my desire to be powerful and strong both externally and internally I was fortunate to be able to experience this."
The actress also stated that she was happy that the 007 personnel took her suggestions into consideration and chose to give Nomi an agent doubting her capabilities. Lynch explained: "The nice thing about beginning the audition was that I could tell they had a very good idea of Nomi and that they were eager for that person they selected to cooperate with them and this was nice. It's not always the case but it does happen.
Lashana Lynch said, "So for the filmmakers and producers to come together and decide that, 'Lashana has ideas and we're going to listen to her', is something that was really humbling, but also gave me a chance to just say, 'Okay, women's experiences, black people's experiences, the newcomer experiences, all of that can literally ....' We can just put into this massive melting pot and make it all make sense."
She added: "That helped me establish this, not very clean-cut, not very slick, still figuring it out, questioning herself kind of agent who was able to do exquisite work."
