Neetu and Rishi Kapoor have been married almost 40 years and are one the most beloved couples in Bollywood. They were among the most beloved jodis onscreen and appeared in movies like Zinda Dil and Do Dooni Chaar.

In 2019, Neetu Kapoor appeared on "Suhaana Safar" with Annu Kapoor. She recalled the first time she met Rishi Kapoor, a veteran actress. He was a bully and would often comment on my clothes and make-up, making me feel angry. He was a brat and bullied everyone, even me when I was young. He used to make me furious."

According to the veteran actress, Bobby became a huge success and Dimple married Rishi. Everyone used to be older than Rishi. "I was the only young actress and, by default, all his movies started coming my way after Rickshawala."

Neetu Kapoor answered a question about the moment that she made the decision to live with Rishi. But I had signed many movies. I was beginning to feel more confident. My mother was extremely protective of me. She used to send Lovely, my cousin, on my dinner dates with Rishi. My age was young and I hadn't been on a date in a while. After three years of this, I signed 'Naseeb, 'Shaan, and four to five other big-budget movies. Rishiji then asked: "You're signing so many movies. Don't you want a marriage?" I didn't know what he was thinking. He never said he wanted to marry. He was just dating. So I replied, "There must be a boy to marry me." Rishiji replied, "So who am I?" Rishiji said, "So who am I?"

The veteran actress also remembered returning all of the signed films. She stated that she returned all of the signed movies and gave notice to everyone to complete all outstanding movies. It was a year that I worked so hard (to finish all my projects before marriage), it is almost impossible to imagine. My husband then told me to finish all of it so that we could start a family. Although it wasn't true that women couldn't work after marriage, I was tired of working 15 years in a row. I desired a simpler life.

After a two-year battle with cancer, Rishi Kapoor went to her heavenly home on April 30, 2020.
