He has received numerous awards, including the Laurence Olivier Award and the Golden Globe Award. Did you know that he attended school with Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne as well? Keep reading for Hollywood News.
Tom and Eddie went to the same all-boys school and even to the same prestigious college Eton where Prince William also graduated. They even appeared together in a theatre production. Tom shared an amusing story from college about how he and Tom worked together in a theatre production.
In 2017, Tom Hiddleston appeared on The Graham Norton Show, where he shared some laughs about the anecdote. He recalled his school days and said that Eddie was a tremendous talent. He was a star and we were part of an all-boys school production of "A Passage to India" by E.M. Forster. It was an all-boys school and Eddie Redmayne (now Oscar-winning Eddie Redmayne) was the lead female role. In "A Passage to India", there is an expedition by elephant to this cultural landmark known as the Marabar Caves.
Hiddleston added, "And it's a delight to tell you that I was the front right leg on the elephant Eddie Redmayne was riding." "We were holding a table, with a cushion on it and a tablecloth to cover our faces, because our bodies are the elephant." Literally, having to carry another actor, better, on your back."
Tom Hiddleston revealed his nickname from school years. Graham Norton asked him about his nickname, "Piddle", which he said was his nickname. They came up with the rhyme "Hiddle Piddle did an innocuous widdle in middle of the night."
