Late Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins Gets A Tribute Through Candlelight Vigils After Her Death

Halyna Hutchins, a rising cinematographer, died on Thursday from injuries sustained by the discharge of a prop firearm in an on-set accident involving veteran star Alec Baldwin.


Two candlelight vigils were dedicated to the memory of Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins who was killed in a crash in the New Mexico set of the western "Rust".

The Local 600 International Cinematographers Guild announced the events on their Facebook account, as reported by variety.com. Keep reading for the Latest Hollywood News.

The first vigil was held on Saturday evening in Albuquerque Civic Plaza. Albuquerque Civic Plaza in Albuquerque and a second one ceremony was scheduled for Sunday afternoon on the IATSE Local 80 headquarters in Burbank, California.

"Let's take a moment and come together to remember Halyna as well as her achievements, and mourn together as one. Bring your own candle and come together to hold an observance of candles to remember Halyna," the guild's statement reads.

A GoFundMe campaign was also set up by the guild for union members as well as others to make donations to aid in the care of Hutchins the family.

Halyna Hutchins who was a film director on the rise, passed away Thursday, suffering from injuries caused from the explosion of a prop gun in an incident on set involving veteran actor Alec Baldwin.

They are survived by their husband Matthew and their 9-year-old son.

A number of directors and colleagues have offered their respects to Hutchins following the announcement of her tragic death.

Director James Cullen Bressack commented on Hutchins latest Instagram message: "I will miss you dear friend. This is heartbreaking." Stay tuned to Koimoi.
