Kevin Feige said that he believes casting Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark in Iron Man is still their biggest risk to date.

Kevin Feige, the CEO of Marvel Studios, spoke out about the greatest risk when casting for the franchise. Because the Marvel Universe is large, there are many people involved in making the films. Each Marvel film needed a team of people to work together, from the cast to crew.

It is difficult to pick the right person, so there are a lot more risks involved. One example is casting Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark.

Kevin Feige stated that casting Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark is their greatest risk. Feige spoke to Cinemabelind and said that he was fortunate enough to have been involved in the early Spider-Man films as well as the X-Men films. We wanted to make an Iron Man film. Casting Robert Downey Jr. was the greatest risk, which I think is still a big one.

It was the greatest risk and most important thing that led to the creation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We wouldn't be here today without Robert. Kevin Feige said, "I really believe that."

Jon Favreau (director of Iron Man's first two films), revealed that Marvel had refused to hire Robert Downey Jr. Marvel stated that "under no circumstances" they were prepared to hire him. Some reports claim that Favreau called Robert and said that he was unlikely to be hired.

Favreau stated to Downey, "I fought, tried, I did everything I could, it was a pity, a shame but unfortunately it's coming to an end here." RDJ maintained that he would continue to hope with his permission.

Kevin Feige was the boss at Marvel Studio and had to take risks, but hiring Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man was the right decision. He is the only person who can play the role as a fun, sassy superhero. What are your thoughts?
