Recently, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor shared that he thinks Hollywood is boycotting him because of the case. Depp had sued the Aquaman actress for a $50 million defamation case. A British tabloid sued him for libel after calling him a "wife-beater".

Amber Heard asked to dismiss the defamation suit against her. According to rumours Fairfax County Chief Judge Penney Azcarate denied Heard's motion. This resulted in Johnny Depp winning. The trial will continue next year.

Johnny Depp won the case against UK tabloids, but he was not successful. After a lengthy trial, Judge Andrew Nicol declared that the article in The Sun contained "substantial truth". Depp was disqualified by The Sun for the 14 incidents that occurred during their troubled marriage.

Amber's team considered it a win. She then filed a motion asking the Virginia court for dismissal of the defamation suit against her. Deadline reported that Depp's lawyers had commented on the case, saying that "Mr Depp is most satisfied by the Court’s decision."

Johnny Depp has won many other awards. A New York judge granted Depp permission to verify that Amber Heard had donated some of the USD 7 million settlement she received from her divorce to the ACLU. She claimed to have done so. According to some reports, Depp also sued ACLU to demand that they reveal whether Head had made the promised donations.
