Jessica Chastain, actress, was eager to collaborate with David O. Russell for his 2014 movie "American Hustle", but due to a scheduling conflict she was forced to decline the project. The role was eventually given to Jennifer Lawrence.

Jessica Chastain said that she wanted to do it. It was incompatible with Liv Ullmann's 'Miss Julie. That was something I had been attached too for a while and I love Liv Ullmann. It didn't work out so I said, "Sorry, there is conflict."
Chastain joked that it was a good thing the movie didn't do so well.
According to femalefirst.co.uk, the actress continued working with Liv on her new project 'Scenes From a Marriage. She believes things turned out well, especially because she played Rosalyn Rosenfeld as the wife of Irving Rosenfeld's conman character.
She said, "That's why that story is shared, because she's honestly like a goddess for me and I worship. All things happen for a reason, because Jennifer was way more than I would have been in that part.
