James Bond Successor Should Be A Gay Actor After Daniel Craig, Feels No Time To Die Star Ben Whishaw

Talking to Attitude Magazine, Ben Whishaw, who came out gay in 2014 shares he would love to see a gay British actor play James Bond after No Time To Die

Fans will be able to see Daniel Craig as James Bond for the last moment on No Time To Die, Daniel Craig has officially said goodbye to the gentlemen spy was his role for 16 years. There are numerous reports suggesting that the role of a person who is of color or female is the best choice for the job in the near future. However, Ben Whishaw who plays agent Q believes the agent's role should be replaced by someone else, preferably a British homosexual actor.

Since Craig's departure many are arguing over the most famous actors that should replace the character of Knives Out actor, there were reports that producers might choose a female actor to play the role, however the speculation was rejected by the actor and producers.



In an interview with Attitude Magazine, Ben Whishaw who came out as gay in 2014 , said his desire to witness gay British actor playing James Bond after No Time To Die The actor declared, "God, can you imagine? It is quite an amazing thing. Of course, I'd love to see. I believe we must be striving towards a world where everyone is able to play any role which would make it exciting if it wasn't a concern about sexuality of a person to take on this role. It would be a significant step in the right direction."


Ben Whishaw, was added to the cast of 2012's Skyfall He will return to the role of the gadget expert Q in the 25th episode, No Time To Die, due to release in the world this week.



He was then asked by the gay actor, based on his opinion, could fill in for Daniel Craig's role, Ben ended up choosing, Beauty and the Beast actor Luke Evans and Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey, he added, "I mean, they're each wonderful and both amazing actors. I'm wondering if any of them would ever want to play the role, as it's more than just the requirements of the character as much as it's the pressures of being Bond on the planet and the meaning behind it and how it could change how you think about your own life."



While Ben Whishaw will love seeing Luke and Jonathan in the future Bond films the actor says he never felt compelled to play the role of the secret agent prior to taking on the role of Q.



In the meantime, actors like Henry Cavill, Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, and Rege-Jean Pages are the most popular candidates to replace the role of Daniel Craig; however, producer Barbara Broccoli puts the rumours aside, saying that they will not make any announcements until 2022.



Time To Die Time To Die hits the big screen on September 30, 2021.
