Priyadarshan directed HeraPHeri, and Firoz Nadiadwala made it. Priyan stated that he didn’t want Phir Hera Pheri. He thought the film's premise was being dragged along, and he even refused to watch the third installment. Firoz responded by blaming Priyan, claiming that Priyan had left the shoot halfway through part 1. Firoz even claimed that Priyan tried to convince actors not to take part in the second installment.
Firoz has now received a strong response from the filmmaker. He said that he had nothing against anyone while speaking to Hindustan Times. This so-called incident occurred 20 years ago. It is not surprising that you are now talking about it. Why should I say that it wasn't done that, or that?" He continued, "I did this movie, and went on with many more films. This is the 95th film in my career. I would not have chosen to be in this industry if I had shown such behavior."
Firoz Nadiadwala claimed that Phir Hera Pheri was influenced by Akshay Kumar. Priyadarshan also addressed Firoz Nadiadwala. "I've worked with these actors since that movie. How is that possible? He said that he was a small South Indian filmmaker and had no influence on Bollywood.
