Mid-Day reported that Anurag Basu revealed that he received offers from streaming giants over the past two-years to turn the Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif-starrer into a series. The Jagga Jasoos director stated that he was not naming the platforms but had received offers to develop the series. It didn't work in theatres. How can we be sure it will work on OTT?
Anurag Basu continued by saying that Pritam (the music director at Jagga Jasoos) is very excited about the idea. He stated that Pritam is very excited about the idea and wanted us to get started on it. But, it is a difficult topic for me. It's hard to not want to do it again after you have tried so many times with so much love. I get chills just thinking about starting Jagga over again.
The film's success is one reason why the filmmaker is skeptical of making Jagga Jasoos a web series. However, Ranbir Kapoor, the lead man, is busy and another obstacle. Anurag Basu spoke out about the situation, saying, "We keep discussing working together again, however that won't happen anytime soon." Ranbir is very busy right now," he said.
Professionally, Kapoor is ready to appear in many highly-awaited films, including Shamshera and Brahmastra, Animal, and Luv Ranjan’s untitled next. Katrina Kaif is busy with films such as Sooryavanshi and Phone Bhoot and Tiger 3 in various stages of pre-production and filming. Anurag Basu is currently a judge in Super Dancer Chapter 4. According to reports, the filmmaker is currently working on an episodic project for a major OTT streaming platform.
