According to a report from 2015 India TV report, rumours mills in the past were buzzing with reports that the Emraan Hashmi actor was approached to be in a film with Alia Bhatt, but The Tiger 3 actor bluntly refused the offer. Are you wondering what the reason was? It's because he had an underlying reason to do this. If you think there's something wrong with Hashmi and Bhatt we'll tell you that this is not the situation.
According to the report that Emran Hashmi didn't want to be in the film with Alia Bhatt was due to the fact that it was meant to be a romcom. And he wasn't keen to play a romantic lead in the film alongside Bhatt. You're scratching your head wondering why the serial kisser of Bollywood was not interested in a romance with this beautiful and gifted actress? Then, for those who aren't, Alia and Emraan are cousins! The actor was aware that it would be awkward to have them in a relationship in real life, given the bond they have on the inside.
According to the report, Emraan Hashmi had not only rejected the offer, however, he was extremely angry with the film maker. He was amazed at how film makers come up with such an idea, namely casting siblings as romantic lead characters.
The announcement made the rounds in 2016 Emraan Hashmi in an interview stated that he'd love to join forces alongside his sister Alia Bhatt. But, he also said that he did not want to be romantically involved with her in the screen. The Chehre actor said that "I have to be with her as an uncle... Anything else thing that would disturb me would be a sickening. I'm not able to be romantic with my cousin, and I'm not aware of anyone who has ever done it; it is awkward".
Guess that the filmmaker didn't record his interview prior to approaching Hashmi for the role as opposite Bhatt.
