Deepika talked about her character and the impact it had on her professionally and personally. Today marks 9 years since the film's release.

Deepika Padukone, who plays Veronica in Cocktail, spoke to Hindustan Times about her character. She said that, while you may put a small part of yourself into each character, you also carry a piece of that character with your forever. Veronica is one of my most memorable characters. She influenced me personally and professionally.

Deepika Padukone answered "Yes" when asked if Veronica had changed her career path in Bollywood. Deepika Padukone replied, "Yes." If a character resonates with millions of people, it is obvious that there was something audiences could relate to.

Deepika spoke about the preparation for the role and said that when she was given the script to review, I assumed it was Meera's character (which, incidentally, was played by Penty). Imtiaz Ali called me one day to ask me to re-read Veronica's script. After pondering it for a few days, I finally understood his meaning and was able to see what he had meant. While I felt butterflies in my stomach, I knew I was ready for it.

The Cocktail actress said, "I don’t think I would be able to do what I did without Homi Adajania." He gave me wings and encouraged me to believe that I could achieve anything. We were able to create a character we will cherish forever because of that belief.

Deepika Padukone, who played Veronica in Cocktail and gave an unforgettable performance with it, will be forever grateful.
