Critics’ Choice Awards 2021: Chloe Zhao’s Nomadland & Netflix’s The Crown Take Home Top Honours – Fu

The 26th Annual Critics Choice Awards saw Chloe Zhao's Nomadland and the Netflix series, The Crown, win most of the accolades.


Chloe Zhao's Nomadland and Netflix's The Crown took home the bulk of the awards at the 26th Annual Critics Choice Awards, which were presented by Taye Diggs in an in-person/virtual hybrid shows on Monday morning. Read on to know more about the ongoing Hollywood news.

A few presenters were on stage in Los Angeles, similar to the recently concluded Golden Globes award ceremony, when winners from around the world appeared on television. Nomadland, the American drama film starring Frances McDormand, took home the Best Picture award, while Chloe Zhao took home the Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay awards.

Josh O'Connor and Emma Corrin won Best Actor and Best Actress in Drama Series at the 26th Annual Critics Choice Awards for their roles in The Crown. For her role as former British Prime Minister Margret Thatcher on the show, Gillian Anderson won the Best Supporting Actress in Drama Series award.

Chadwick Boseman, who died of colon cancer last year, won the award for Best Actor for his appearance in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. At the Critics’ Choice Awards 2021, Carey Mulligan won Best Actress for Talented Young Women.

At the Critics’ Choice Awards 2021, Jason Sudeikis' Ted Lasso won big in the TV comedy category, including Best Comedy and trophies for Sudeikis (Best Actor in Comedy Series) and Hannah Waddingham (Best Actress in a Comedy Series). Schitt's Creek, a Canadian comedy series, continued its winning streak at award shows, winning two nominations, both in the acting categories. Best Actress in a Comedy Series went to Catherine O'Hara, and Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series went to Daniel Levy.
