After the court's decision to remove John Ouderkirk, the private judge in the case, once-in-a-lifetime actor from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood filed a petition with California Supreme Court seeking review of the custody case. Jolie also claimed that Jolie was wrongly granted full custody of their five minor children following the dismissal of their private judge.

Page Six reports that Angelina and Brad had, in their initial agreement, agreed to each other's permission if they ever desired to sell their shares to the estate. Jolie was accused by Pitt's company of trying to sell her shares while denying Pitt the right-of-first refusal.
