"If they decide to go on with this character and the entire franchise I'm sure you can make it explode and do anything," Whishaw, who is playing 'Q' for the 3rd time on the most recent episode, says on this week's episode on the "Just for Variety' podcast.
"I do not know what this is however it appears to me to be something very revolutionary, something totally distinct. The world has to change, it's got to continue changing. We're living in different times." Ben Whishaw knows this won't be easy.
"There are always people who want the film to go back to how it was in the past and are important because they enjoy these movies," he says.
Whishaw said: "But I think you can combine both. It is possible to honor the heritage and the culture while pushing it forward too. In my opinion, you need to do so if it's not going to just become an artifact in a museum."
Ben Whishaw says he's relieved that the studio demanded the film only be released in theaters.
"I'm content with all film that is released in the theater however, I'm thinking of something like this" Ben Whishaw says. "It's not designed to be watched in a home. It's all about the size and grandeur it all comes down to the feeling and the sheer magnitude."
"No Time to Die" will be in theaters across the US on October 8, after premiering in the world on Wednesday in London.
