As per reports, SLB will be casting his Padmaavat, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani star to play the lead role in the upcoming musical. According to these reports, an official announcement is expected soon.

A source close to Bollywood Hungama said that Ranveer Singh was being considered for the role. Bhansali was primarily concerned with Heera Mandi's casting. Now that incorrect information about Baiju Bawra's male casting was leaked, Bhansali decided to cast Ranveer Singh as the grand musical's title character.

This isn’t the first media report to suggest that the Paadmavat actor will be joining Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra. ETimes reported that Ranveer Singh had been finalized and that an official announcement was in the making. The source said that the official announcement would be made once the remaining modalities have been worked out.

Sources said that Ranbir was not offered the part in the musical. They added that RK was not interested in the Hrithik Roshan-starrer Guzaarish SLB movie.

The male lead is the main focus, but a few Bollywood actresses have been mentioned as possible female leads. Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt are two of these names. Baiju Bawra, for the uninitiated, is Sanjay Lela Bhansali’s version of the musical saga that Vikram Bhatt's grandfather Vijay Bhatt had earlier created.

Ranveer Singh, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, and Cirkus will soon be seen on the work front.
