Akshay shared the heartbreaking news about his mother's passing on Twitter just moments ago. He wrote: "She was my core. Today, I feel an uncontrollable pain at my core. Today, my maa Smt Aruna Bhatia, peacefully passed away and was reunited with her father in the other dimension. As my family and I go through this time, I appreciate your prayers. Om Shanti

According to the Hindustan Times report, Akshay left the UK as soon as he learned of his mother's declining health. However, he made sure that the shoot didn't become affected by his absence.

"The actor's mother has been unwell for several days and is currently in the ICU at Mumbai’s Hiranandani Hospital. Akshay is very attached to his mom and couldn't leave her side while she was ill. So he made a quick decision to fly back to India. He has returned to India to be with his mother, but he has instructed his producers to continue shooting scenes that don't require him to be there. According to a source, all other work commitments continue."
