Ajay Devgn has 1300 points to his credit and holds 4th place in star ranking
Ajay Devgn isn't known for making a lot of fuss about his recent films. He simply lets his acting do the talking, which has served Singham well so far. He could now easily pass Aamir Khan in terms of star power without anyone knowing.
At Koimoi, we have a table called Stars' Power Index for those who aren't aware. It rates actors based on their appearances in films with budgets of $100 million or more. It also considers the set of films from other countries.
Ajay Devgn is currently ranked fourth in the star list with 1300 points. Aamir Khan is currently in third position with 1450 points. Ajay has nine films that have grossed over 100 crores (Golmaal 3, Singham, Bol Bachchan, Son of Sardaar, Singham Returns, Shivaay, Raid, Total Dhamaal, De De Pyaar De) and two films that have grossed over 200 crores (Golmaal 3, Singham, Bol Bachchan, Son of Sardaar, Singham Returns, Shivaay, Raid, Total Dhamaal, De De Py (Golmaal Again, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior).
Aamir Khan has five films in the top ten list of Best of Overseas (Ghajini, Thugs of Hindostan), two films in the 200 crore club (3 Idiots, Dhoom 3), two films in the 300 crore club (PK, Dangal), and two films in the top ten list of Best of Overseas (PK, Dangal) (Dangal, Secret Superstar, PK, Dhoom 3, 3 Idiots).
Aamir Khan currently has only one confirmed release, Laal Singh Chaddha. The film was scheduled to be released in December 2020, but due to a pandemic, it was postponed. The film's new release date has yet to be announced. On the other hand, Ajay Devgn has Maidaan, which will be released during Dussehra 2021. One of Ajay's upcoming projects could be reworked even before Laal Singh Chaddha arrives.
As a result, Ajay Devgn has a strong chance of overtaking Aamir Khan's 150-point lead in the star rankings.
(Note that we didn't include Gangubai Kathiawadi and RRR in Ajay's kitty because he's said to be in a daily cameo rather than the extended one seen in Secret Superstar.)
